Based on Luke 7:18-50
Luke continues to walk with Tiberius through the lands where Jesus ministered. An imprisoned John the Baptist sends messengers to ask about Jesus’ identity. Their answer was not in the label, but the actions of Jesus healing. His teaching was good news to the poor in spirit, so they might believe in him. He was sent so that people who were held captive in their sin might be liberated.
Once John had his answer, Jesus told the crowds about the kind of prophet John was. He wasn’t a shaken or weak man. He wasn’t a soft man. He was a man with the mission to make the road to the messiah straight and smooth. John was the greatest of prophets, but a humble person is greater than John in the kingdom of heaven. The most lowly who repent are accepted, but even the highest regarded people who reject him are the ones who don’t understand wisdom. They are childish in their expectations.
Not all the Pharisee s rejected Jesus. Some were at least curious and open enough to invite Jesus to their homes. Simon invited Jesus to a feast where a woman of the city heard about him and anointed his feet after washing them with her tears. It turned out to be a lesson in demonstrating the depth of forgiveness. Jesus forgives all who come to him in faith whether the debt is small or great. Though Simon seems to be put off by the kind of sin this woman was guilty of, Jesus is willing to point out the depth of her gratitude.
“For this reason, I say to you, her sins, which are many, have been forgiven, for she loved much; but he who is forgiven little, loves little.”
Then He said to her, “Your sins have been forgiven.”

It was her faith that won her forgiveness, not any deed she could do for salvation. If Simon also had faith, his attitude didn’t show a very deep understanding. He prepared a feast but forgot the simple act of washing a guest’s feet, especially a guest of honor. It was common practice to invite a range of guests to a feast, some of who could reciprocate with a feast or a favor. Others were invited as a show of grace, as to widows and orphans.
As Luke ponders what he has just learned, his friend hints at more healing and teaching to come.

Uncertain what the problem may be. What is it showing? Any error message? What browser are you using? Mobile or PC?
