REVIEW:

Share that the events in today’s session probably took place not long before the fall of Jerusalem in 586 BC, during the waning days of King Zedekiah’s reign.

CONTEXT:

The nation of Judah was entering its final months as an independent kingdom.
As Jeremiah warned Zedekiah, it would not be long before God sent Nebuchadnezzar and the Babylonians to destroy the city and exile more of the people.
Note that during this terrible time the Israelites were enslaving their own people and the king allowed this to happen.
