Keith picks apart this verse from first Peter to demonstrate what defences a believer can take. Being prayerfully rooted in scriptural discipline can go a long way in facing the seriousness of our primary spiritual enemy, Satan.

1 Peter 5:8
8 Be of sober spirit, be on the alert Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. (NASB)

be prepared, both in mind and spirit. Always using sound judgment.

Strive to always be awake, on guard and diligent.

Relationship roles for women include modest dress and Not being overly adorned.

Rules of older men and women are to set proper examples for younger ones.

In the Old Testament, the adversary is compared the Haman. The title is more often in reference to illegal opponent in a courtroom.

Satan needs permission before he can do anything.

The Holy Spirit leads us into spiritual confrontations, and angels minister once we succeed.

The enemy sows tares among the wheat. People who appear to be legitimate, but are not. They will eventually be separated, and judged accordingly.

Be ready in the full Armor of God and Never give in to Satan.

The comparison to a lion is not without cause. Satan attacks is ruthlessly and ferociously as a lion on the hunt.
