In this episode, Keith and Nathan continue to expose false teaching by example it is important to start with Scripture to build a doctrine not starting with the doctrine and findings Scripture to support it

God does indeed call his people to a life of purity and holiness. This type of living is the kind of spiritual life that all Christians should seek to live. to claim that it is somehow prophetic stretches the definition of the word
the kind of wisdom that originates from God comes through his Holy Spirit. there’s no extra mystical aspect that Christians need to seek. everything we need to know to have God’s will revealed can be found in Scripture. no extra prophetic revelations are required.

motivation and desire are for God. Attempts at play acting don’t last. human efforts fail. fruits of the spirit can only come from the spirit. despite the claim, it’s not prophecy it’s the spirit led life.

read the Scriptures for yourself, especially consider the context of the passage. 2 Peter 1:20-21; Mt 5:8; 1 Cor 13:17

other godly attributes such as peace are important for Christian living. this devotional author claims that prophetic things need to be tested by the Holy Spirit. this sounds good, but the reality is that all things tested by the Holy Spirit.

also in this teaching, the devotional author seems to have a strange concept of peace. there is an implication that if a person can make peace with something, namely a sin, it’s okay to do it. there is also a misunderstanding of the kind of spiritual peace that passes all understanding, which should bind all believers together and the Holy Spirit. Jesus claimed that he did not come to bring peace, but a sword. His spiritual peace binds the family of God together, while creating enemies with the world.

Whatever we are filled with becomes a manifestation of our lives. garbage in, garbage out. we tend to become like the people we hang out with the most. we also tend to become like the things we fill our minds with, like entertainment, books, television and others.

when reading the Scripture passages, either individually or in their context, there are some beautiful life lessons. however, none of them relate to being prophetic. this is just one way that false teachers take a lie and rapid in truth to impose false doctrine.

check out these words from the book of Romans with some good wisdom from God.
