First, we have a segment where Chris the wild Moose joins Keith to address some odd news headlines. Rather than doing our “Dumb News” quiz that we used to do, we just read the headlines and try to make sense of them without reading the articles.

Main Topic

First off, we have an atheist who complains about the poor track record that religion has was science. He does a good job at misrepresenting the Christian viewpoint based on descriptions in the Bible. Largely taking things out of context. He claims that the Bible has been reinterpreted as science has made discoveries. He claims that educated religious people are fine with science, is just those crazy fundamentalists who don’t get on board.

Nathan offers reasons to prove that reason and science are reconcilable. He points out that it’s not the atheist don’t have faith, but they have faith in things that are nonreligious. He points out that evolution cannot actually be proven through science. Microevolution, or a species modifies itself is one thing. But macro evolution where one species turns into another has never been proven. He addresses the fact that the Bible is not science textbook. It has science and nature in it. The Bible is primarily a religious and philosophical book, intended to draw us to a closer understanding to God. Not to mention that the Bible is literary while being literal. It uses a variety of writing styles to illustrate the truth it contains.
Actually, the order of creation is very much in line with the order that scientists claim that would’ve had to happened. Then he begins to conflate stars in the heavenly bodies as literal, 2 metaphorical uses used elsewhere in the Bible Keith points out the gross twisting in context. The atheist claims that Scripture has to be in reinterpreted to explain science. Keith points out an example of how science might be used to explain heavenly things. He also addresses the matter of the various literary styles in the Bible to tell my literal truth. He also points out that although there is science in the Bible, it’s not its main purpose.
