It’s our first live chat, with someone besides the hosts in the chat room. The recording is also from the live stream. Though the audio is good, there are some echoing troubles, and working out things like when to key the mic. OK, the audio is edited, but just a little, and not any more than usual.

Meet the hosts. Nathan has been preaching more lately, and nervous about his potential new congregation. Chris is getting back into the swing of riding his new bicycle more, and Keith has rented his other house. Lots of nice praiseworthy stuff.

Main Topic. The topic we had slated for today had to be postponed. Keith couldn’t find his notes. Instead, we spend time on some random items gleaned from the Internet. Blogs, email alerts, and other podcasts.

We talk about having a dead faith and agree with the atheist who defined what that means. It’s never time to stop learning, both about the world around us and the world of spirituality.

What do you think about Microsoft’s newly announced dedication to making it easy to report hate speech? Big deal, little deal, or not an issue. What does this mean for those who are easily offended? What does it mean for Christians or other religions? Does it cross the boundaries of our right to freedom of speech?

Can you tell if things are sin if they aren’t mentioned in the bible? If they are, what can we do about it, or should we do anything at all? It isn’t so much the sin if you’ve searched the scriptures, and are convicted of it. It’s always to refrain from one of those marginal sins if it might make a brother fall into a temptation he can’t control. Be private, and discrete.

Note: I promise the chat recording will get better. We need to perfect our technique in the way the room recording uses voice activation as opposed to a push-to-talk system. Participants are welcome to join in with the pre-show, or post-show discussion. In the future, we’ll probably limit chat to text only once the show is in progress. Maybe… we’re still working it out as we go.
