Chapter 14 outline

1 Christ comforts his disciples with the hope of heaven;
5 professes himself the way, the truth, and the life, and one with the Father;
13 assures their prayers to be effectual;
15 requires obedience;
16 promises the Comforter;
27 and leaves his peace with them.
John 14
1 Do not let your heart be troubled;
John 14:27,28
27 “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.
28 “You heard that I said to you, `I go away, and I will come to you.´ If you loved Me, you would have rejoiced because I go to the Father, for the Father is greater than I.2 Corinthians 4:8-10
8 we are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not despairing;
9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;
10 always carrying about in the body the dying of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body.Hebrews 12:12,13
12 Therefore, strengthen the hands that are weak and the knees that are feeble,
13 and make straight paths for your feet, so that the limb which is lame may not be put out of joint, but rather be healed.
believe in God, believe also in Me.
John 5:23 so that all will honor the Son even as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.
John 12:44 And Jesus cried out and said, “He who believes in Me, does not believe in Me but in Him who sent Me.
1 John 2:23,24
23 Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father; the one who confesses the Son has the Father also.24 As for you, let that abide in you which you heard from the beginning. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, you also will abide in the Son and in the Father.
2 “In My Father’s house are many dwelling places;
2 Corinthians 5:1 For we know that if the earthly tent which is our house is torn down, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
Hebrews 13:14 For here we do not have a lasting city, but we are seeking the city which is to come.
if it were not so, I would have told you;
John 16:4 “But these things I have spoken to you, so that when their hour comes, you may remember that I told you of them. These things I did not say to you at the beginning, because I was with you.
1 Thessalonians 3:3,4
3 so that no one would be disturbed by these afflictions; for you yourselves know that we have been destined for this.
4 For indeed when we were with you, we kept telling you in advance that we were going to suffer affliction; and so it came to pass, as you know.1 Thessalonians 5:9 For God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,
Titus 1:2 in the hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised long ages ago,
for I go to prepare a place for you.
John 13:33,36
33 “Little children, I am with you a little while longer. You will seek Me; and as I said to the Jews, now I also say to you, `Where I am going, you cannot come.´
36 Simon Peter said to Him, “Lord, where are You going?” Jesus answered, “Where I go, you cannot follow Me now; but you will follow later.”John 17:24 “Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.
3 “If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.
Matthew 25:32-34
32 “All the nations will be gathered before Him; and He will separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats;
33 and He will put the sheep on His right, and the goats on the left.
34 “Then the King will say to those on His right, `Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.Acts 1:11 They also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in just the same way as you have watched Him go into heaven.”
1 Thessalonians 4:16,17
16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.
17 Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord.2 Timothy 2:12 If we endure, we will also reign with Him; If we deny Him, He also will deny us;
