Do Not Delay (Acts 9:36-38)

She was always doing good works and acts of charity.
37 About that time she became sick and died.
After washing her, they placed her in a room upstairs.
38 Since Lydda was near Joppa, the disciples heard that Peter was there and sent two men to him
who urged him, “Don’t delay in coming with us.”

Application Point:

Believers should demonstrate godly character.

Good works point people to Jesus,
as do integrity, godly character, and generosity.
By describing her godly character, Luke emphasized how the Holy Spirit transforms believers.

There are many ways to serve whether a person has a ministry title or not.

A person of good character has enduring qualities regardless of job description.

Peter, whose reputation as a miracle worker preceded him;

he responded immediately to their requests.

the people who lovingly cared for Tabitha’s body;

the men who went to Peter.

consider why the men urgently went to find Peter,
after the fact of Tabitha’s passing.
who was ten miles away.

Note that the men acted with urgency and also pressed Peter to act without delay.
