Rest (Mark 6:30-32)

30 The apostles gathered around Jesus and reported to him
all that they had done and taught.
31 He said to them,
“Come away by yourselves to a remote place and rest for a while.”
For many people were coming and going,
and they did not even have time to eat.
32 So they went away in the boat by themselves
to a remote place,

Discuss:

talk about why the disciples needed rest.

highlight that the disciples had given of themselves to ministry, and now they needed rest.

Ask:

• How can we recognize when we are exhausted?
• What impact can that have on the way we minister to others?

Discuss:

Physical, Mental, Emotional, and Spiritual.

list ways believers can find rest in each of these areas of life.

Transition:

Though Jesus tried to give the disciples the opportunity to rest,
the crowds kept coming.
We need to see how Jesus responded.
