God announced through Jeremiah that a time of restoration and redemption was coming.
Even though Jeremiah’s current circumstances were desperate,
he looked forward to the comfort, healing, and hope that God had promised.

INTRODUCE:

set the stage for today’s Scripture and its connection to Nebuchadnezzar’s final siege on Jerusalem.
while Judah’s present situation was desperate, Jeremiah declared
that the Lord would break their chains of bondage and deliver His people out of captivity.

TRANSITION:

God told Jeremiah that He was going to initiate this season of redemption
by establishing a “new covenant” with His people.
While the old covenant played its part in salvation history,
the new covenant would change everything for those who came to God in faith.
