Session 12 Micah 4:6-8; 5:1-9

THEN THE REMNANT (MICAH 5:7-9)

picture how the remnant will be a testimony of the gracious hand of God.

7 Then the remnant of Jacob will be among many peoples
like dew from the LORD, like showers on the grass,
which do not wait for anyone or linger for mankind.

8 Then the remnant of Jacob will be among the nations,
among many peoples,
like a lion among animals of the forest,
like a young lion among flocks of sheep,
which tramples and tears as it passes through,
and there is no one to rescue them.
9 Your hand will be lifted up against your adversaries,
and all your enemies will be destroyed.

DESCRIBE:

identify characteristics of the remnant.

DISCUSS:

TRANSITION:

God provided hope for the people of Israel
with the promised return of a remnant of believers
who would remain faithful to Him.
As believers in today’s world, we too are called to be faithful.

CHALLENGE

REFLECT:

Focus the group on the question set under Apply the Text (p. 103).
Lead them to respond as directed:
Discuss as a group how sharing the gospel creates a watershed event
for those who stand between salvation and judgment.
How can this message be shared without being judgmental?

CHALLENGE:

Guide the group to reflect on the question set under Apply the Text (p. 107)
in the week ahead. How do the promises listed by Micah bring you peace and security?
To what extent are you being obedient to God and His promises?
What actions do you need to take in anticipation of the promises given?

PRAY:

Close in prayer,
thanking the Lord for sending His Son
to provide salvation for all who believe.
Pray that He will guide us to be faithful examples
for Him in all areas of our lives.
Praise Him for the peace and security He offers all believers.

AFTER THE SESSION

Reinforce the study by creating a group text or email for everyone to share throughout the week ways they see God’s faithfulness. If using email, remind the group to use the reply all feature.
