Session 9 Hosea 10:5-15
look for what could have been if Israel had stayed true to God.
11 Ephraim is a well-trained calf that loves to thresh, but I will place a yoke on her fine neck.
I will harness Ephraim; Judah will plow; Jacob will do the final plowing.12 Sow righteousness for yourselves and reap faithful love;
break up your unplowed ground.
It is time to seek the LORD until he comes and sends righteousness on you like the rain.
God had a plan for Israel, but they got off track.
examine these verses
and discuss how the results would have been different if Israel had stayed true to God.
Reread Hosea 10:12 and
guide the group to identify three or four action words
that would have helped the Israelites avoid judgment.
Hosea emphasized that Israel plowed unrighteousness and produced injustice.
Since they trusted in themselves, warriors, and fortresses,
they would face destruction.
